Disney World visitors will be able to play a wireless interactive game via Verizon early next year.

Verizon will demonstrate aspects of its wireless service in Walt Disney Parks as part of a multi-year deal to create interactive experiences for visitors and direct them to various attractions.

The first blush of the Verizon touch will be Disney’s Kim Possible World Showcase in Epcot at Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL. The interactive experience will guide visitors through the park with clues from a Verizon “Kimmunicator” on a virtual quest to save the world from a gang of comic villains. It’s slated to debut during the first quarter of next year.

The two companies are currently developing a suite of location-based services for both Disney World and Disneyland, according to Verizon spokesman Jeffrey Nelson. The content will be accessible to Verizon customers, providing information about attractions they might be interested in based on information they elect to provide prior to their visit.

Content might also include games and wallpaper that will give them wireless memories of their vacation after they visit the parks.

“This is a great symbiotic relationship, combining the great destinations that Disney Parks provide with wireless services from Verizon,” Nelson said.

The project has been in development for the past several months, he said.

The wireless services will not be limited to Verizon customers. All Disney Park visitors with wireless handsets will also receive prompts about dining locales, show times and other information.
