American Eagle Offers 1 Million Prizes in Instant-Win Game

American Eagle Outfitters is driving store sales with an instant-win holiday promotion that rewards customers with prizes for shopping.

Starting Thanksgiving Day online and in-store on Nov. 23 and 24, people who make a purchase will receive an instant-win scratch-off card. One winner will receive a 2008 Kia sportage or Kia Spectra5. Other prizes include AE gift cards ranging from $25 to $500, or a free movie rental from Blockbuster.

Every card is a winner. More than 1 million prizes will be offered during the three-day promotion, the company said.

It’s the latest stunt by the retailer to drive sales during the official start of the holiday shopping season. For online orders, game pieces will be packaged with merchandise.

“AE Wishes is our way of thanking customers for shopping with us,” Kathy Savitt, American Eagle Outfitter’s executive vice president and chief marketing officer said in a statement.”
