Jeep Adds Incentives for ‘Everyday Heroes’

DaimlerChrysler’s Jeep division has extended its military incentive program to include police, fire and emergency medical services personnel.

The overlay, called "Everyday Heroes," offers an additional $500 cash allowance for emergency personnel, on top of any incentive available to the general public. Jeep has offered a $500 cash allowance to members of the military for about eight years.

Auburn Hills, MI-based Jeep launched Everyday Heroes earlier this month with a total of $200,000 in donations to several organizations, and created an advisory board with representatives from military, police, fire and EMS associations to help oversee its military incentive and Everyday Heroes programs. Jeep will advertise the program to emergency workers via print ads in trade publications.

Donations went to the National Fallen Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund; the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial in Colorado Springs; the National Firefighters Burn Foundation; and Fisher House, which houses family members visiting injured or ill military service personnel. Jeep also funded a new safe driving program and a safety-at-accident-scene training program for volunteer firefighters and EMTs, through the International Association of Fire Chiefs.
