At that rate, the company says, it expects to plant 10,000 trees a year in support of American Forest’s aim to plant 100 million trees in the U.S. and abroad by 2020.

“Mobile coupons are a step in the right direction to decrease the millions of tress destroyed annually for the creation of paper coupons and direct mail offers,” said Greg Meyer, American Forests’ corporate relations director, in a statement.

Cellfire delivers coupons from advertisers such as Hardee’s, Domino’s Pizza and Hollywood Video to registered users’ phones in a format they can save, search and redeem in stores.
