American Airlines is now the official airline of the Dallas Cowboys and Continental Airlines is the official carrier of the New York Giants. American’s deal runs through 2019, while Continental’s pact extends through 2010.

Continental’s plans with the Giants include joint marketing for fan promotions and corporate hospitality opportunities.

Giants’ fans will have a chance to bid on various team experiences through the OnePass Online Auction at Continental.com. The experiences include a trip for two to London to see the team play at Wembley Stadium, a personal tailgate party with former Giants players as hosts, fantasy football clinics and a road trip for two to see the Giants play the Bears in Chicago.

“Our research showed that Giants’ fans have a strong preference for Continental over other carriers,” said Mike Stevens, New York Giants senior vice president and chief marketing officer, in a statement.

American Airline’s deal with the Cowboys includes exclusive on-site advertising, marketing and promotion rights, on-site signage and online marketing. The Cowboys’ new stadium will contain American Airlines-branded areas when it opens in 2009.

In a statement about the deal, David Cush, American’s senior vice president of global sales, said the airline would “leverage” its Web site, frequent flyer programs and Admiral’s Club lounges as part of its relationship with the Cowboys.
