Mars Debuts NBA-Themed Chocolates
Mars Direct Inc., a division of Mars Snackfood US, has inked a new licensing deal with the National Basketball Association to create My Team M&M’S brand chocolates.
The candies feature customized team logos and colors for all 30 NBA teams. The new NBA Blends can be purchased online, as well as at the NBA Store in New York City.
At the Web site, visitors can choose their team and view the M&Ms created for that team. They can also select from several packaging choices, including a dispenser, a 5-pound box or an NBA-themed bag prior to placing an order.
“As the NBA Playoffs tip off, fans are looking for new, fun ways to show their team spirit,” said Mars Direct Vice President and General Manager Jim Cass, in a release.
M&Ms is in the business of custom printing on its little round chocolates. A Mother’s Day promotion is currently underway where people can customize the candies.
