Warner Launches Action Sports Home Video Division

Warner Strategic Marketing's Rhino Home Video Division is looking to capitalize on the popularity of youth and action sports. Its new Rhino Transport division will concentrate on creating and promoting movie and DVD releases revolving around skateboarding, BMX, motorcross, surfing and snow sports.

The first video, Flipped Out, goes on sale Aug. 12. The film documents freestyle motorcross athlete Carey Hart's backflip on a 250-pound dirt bike in 2000 and the 2002 ESPN X Games consecutive back flips by Mike Metzger.

Rhino Transport will show the film at a party at the House of Blues in Los Angeles on Aug. 14. The DVD will include a limited-edition 20-song sampler featuring Burbank, CA-based Warner recording artists such as Tantric and Course of Nature. The B Company, Los Angeles, handles sponsorship for the House of Blues event.
