Lucky Brand, which makes active wear, T-shirts and other stuff, has launched what it is billing as “a first-of-its-kind” consumer-generated coupon for the holidays.

Online, users control a green-nosed reindeer and try to "buck off" various holiday characters for discounts in-store and online. The better the bucking skills, the greater the discounts—up to 30% off any item.

To add to the fun, users can upload a photo of themselves to make the game all that more personal. The "buck off" itself is recorded online and can be spread around to friends and family. The promo runs through the New Year.

"Holidays have gotten extremely stressful, especially this year with all the pressures of the economy," says Kristin Patrick, vice president of marketing for Lucky Brand. “We wanted to spread Lucky Brand's sense of humor throughout the world this season, and remind everybody to enjoy life and make sure not to take everything so bucking seriously.”

Street teams are prowling New York , Chicago and San Francisco every weekend through the end of the year passing out scratch-off cards with various discount levels. They will also encourage people to visit LuckyBuckOff.com for more discounts.

The coupons are valid through Dec. 31. LIME public relations + promotions executed The Buck Off.

Lucky Brand designs and produces denim, sportswear, knits, wovens, outerwear, T-shirts, active wear and has recently launched Lucky Kid.
