Starz Plays Role in Oscars Via Sweeps

Starz Entertainment Group is dangling a $4,000 sweepstakes reward to the viewer who correctly chooses this year's Academy Award winners.

Starting Jan. 31, when the Oscar nominees are announced, viewers choose their favorites for the top six categories (Actor in a Leading Role, Actor in a Supporting Role, Actress in a Leading Role, Actress in a Supporting Role, Director and Best Picture), then log on to Starz.com through March 5 to enter their predictions online. Throughout February, Starz will air profiles of the nominees to help consumers with their selections.

On March 5, consumers can tune in to the live broadcast of The 78th Annual Academy Awards at 8:30 p.m. ET on ABC to check their predictions. One grand-prize winner gets $4,000 and two first-prize winners get $450 each. Winners will be randomly selected from the pool of correct entries.

Following the show, viewers can log on to Starz.com to see how their choices fared against Academy Award winners.
