Sears Kicks Off Sweeps to Promote Converted Stores

Sears, Roebuck and Co. has converted 28 of its Sears Hardware stores into Sears Appliances and Hardware stores, and is running a pair of sweepstakes in each of those stores to promote the change.

Consumers can enter a drawing for a $1,000 shopping spree and a drawing for a $1,000 set of Frigidaire appliances.

Shoppers can select from 260 appliance models at 88 Sears Appliances and Hardware stores, including up to 50 models that can be bought and taken home by customers the same day.

Major appliances sold at the stores include countertop microwaves, dishwashers, dryers, freezers, over-the-range microwaves, ranges, refrigerators and washers. Brands include Amana, Frigidaire, G.E., Maytag, Whirlpool, Kenmore and Kenmore Elite.

Sears is promoting the sweeps in-store and via local advertising.
