MGM Sponsors 'Mother of All Contests'

Baby prognosticators unite! MGM Television is sponsoring a one-of-a-kind contest for fans of the hit sci-fi show Stargate SG-1 to predict the exact time and date series' star Amanda Tapping will give birth to her first child.

And the fan that makes the most accurate prediction could win a Stargate SG-1 prize pack worth more than $500. Here's a hint. Tapping's doctor gave the "official" due date as March 14.

To celebrate the birth of Tapping's child, MGM Television is sponsoring the Stargate SG-1: The Mother of all Contests, which invites viewers to join in on the fun through an online contest. Tapping plays an astrophysicist on the TV series.

To enter the contest, consumers can log onto MGM.com/contest.do and submit their guesses for the sex of Tapping's baby and the month, day, hour and minute (PT) the baby will be born. There is a limit of one online entry per person.

The grand-prize winner will receive an autographed Stargate SG-1 sweatshirt and script and the Stargate SG-1 DVD box sets, seasons one through seven. Ten first-prize winners will receive a Stargate SG-1 Season 7 DVD box set.

The contest is open to viewers 18 and older and runs through February 28. Winners will be determined within five days from the baby's actual birth. Online materials support.

Stargate SG-1, the longest running sci-fi drama on TV, is in its eighth season. The show airs at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Fridays on the Sci Fi channel.
