Loews' Sweep Shares Celebrity Fortune

Loews Cineplex Entertainment Corp. is letting moviegoers in on the red carpet fun through a new sweepstakes tied into the Academy Awards for a chance to win $100,000 and other prizes via a watch and win element.

Consumers can enter the Their Fame, Your Fortune sweepstakes by entering their movie ticket number online at Enjoytheshow.com. After registering, participants will receive a random list of Academy Award nominees in 10 categories, including "Best Actor" and "Best Actress." Patrons who register must tune in to the Academy Awards, which airs Feb. 27 on ABC to see if their assigned list matches the actual winners.

Consumers who match all 10 categories will receive $100,000. Consumers who match nine, eight and seven categories will receive $500, $250 and $25 American Express gift certificates, respectively. All who register for the sweepstakes will be entered to win a trip for four to the 2006 Academy Awards red carpet event.

"Loews Theatres are well-known to movie-goers as the place to truly experience real Hollywood excitement," said John McCauley, senior VP of Loews Cineplex Entertainment, in a statement. "We thought a great way for them to really feel the excitement was to offer them the opportunity to share in the anticipation of Hollywood's biggest award show with their own chance to win."

The sweepstakes is open to consumers 18 and older and runs through Feb. 27. Internet and in-theater materials support. Marinelli Communications, Inc., New York, handles.
