HBO Promotes Lackawanna Sweeps

In celebration of Black History Month, HBO is touting an online sweepstakes tied into the upcoming release of its Lackawanna Blues film.

The film Lackawanna Blues tells the coming-of-age story about a woman who built a community and circumvented segregation in her own way. The movie will premiere at 8 p.m. ET Feb. 12 on HBO.

Consumers 21 and older are invited to enter the HBO Lackawanna Sweepstakes by logging onto HBO.com and completing the online form. The sweepstakes, which celebrates Black music, will award the grand-prize winner and a guest with an all-expense paid four-day, three-night trip for two to New Orleans and tickets to the three-day Essence Music Festival.

Two first-prize winners will receive an autographed Gibson electric guitar by one of the Lackawanna cast members; 50 second-place winners will receive a Lackawanna Blues CD.

The sweepstakes runs through Feb. 28. Winners will be selected in a random drawing on March 4. Internet materials support.
