GSN Targets Bars to Promote Ballbreakers

GSN is teaming up with 140 bars across 10 cities to host pool tournaments to generate buzz around its new billiards show Ballbreakers.

Ballbreakers: Battle of the Bars will feature a single tournament in 10 cities featuring players chosen by participating bars. Each tournament will determine the best nine-ball player in the city who will compete to win a new Brunswick pool table valued at up to $7,000 and a pool accessory prize package. Players can also log on to GSN.com/ballbreakers for a chance to win a Brunswick pool table and a prize packages in a separate Ballbreakers sweepstakes.

Tournaments will take place beginning July 8 through Aug. 6 in cities including Marietta, GA, St Louis, MO, Washington, DC, Boston, New York City and Los Angeles, CA. Participating bars will promote the event with posters, table tents, coasters, napkins, T-shirts, key chains and giveaways.

In addition to the competition, casting directors for Ballbreakers will attend each location to scout possible contestants for future episodes.

Ballbreakers, a fast-paced series about amateur pool sharks who battle it out for a chance to win $20,000, debuts July 18 at 10 p.m. on GSN, formerly known as the Game Show Network.

The contest is open to consumers 21 and older. Radio, Internet and P-O-P materials support.
