Best Western Uses E-Contest to Tout High-Speed Internet Access

Best Western is out to see how smart its customers and prospects really are with a rapid-fire trivia contest aimed at touting the chain's free high-speed Internet access.

The hotel chain began yesterday its High Speed IQ Challenge, where contestants log onto Bestwestern.com, to find a series of three multiple-choice questions covering a variety of speed-related topics. The topics include, automotive to entertainment to aircrafts and animals. Each correct answer earn a sweepstakes entry with a chance for a grand prize of $10,000. The contest runs through March 1.

A "tell-a-friend" feature allows players to earn additional entries. At the end of each day, players get e-mail updates on how they did. A message during each game reminds contestants about the free Internet access, now available at all Best Western hotels in North America. Eprize, Farmington Hills, MI, handles the promotion.
