Apprentice To Feature AE Clothing With A Twist
American Eagle Outfitters is the latest brand to join a growing list of companies linking product placement deals on the NBC's hit show The Apprentice.
In the latest episode, which airs tonight at 9 p.m. ET, Apprentice contestants will face off at the clothier's New York Design center to create wearable technology. As part of the task, the teams Net Worth and Magna will work with AE designers to include cutting edge technologyincluding cell phones, MP3 players and computersinto AE's spring collection.
"Like The Apprentice, AE is all about encouraging individuals to go after their dreams and live their lives to the limit," said Michael James Leedy, CMO, American Eagle Outfitters, in a statement. '"Live Your Life'" is a statement that reflects the spirit and values of the AE brandauthentic, individual, and realand we are proud to help big dreams become reality for The Apprentice candidates. Our alliance with the show is a natural partnership."
Already, AE is building buzz around the episode on its Web site AE.com. Consumers who log on can watch a preview of tonight's Apprentice episode.
Following the episode, AE will launch a sweepstakes in stores nationwide and online, offering consumers the chance to win a trip for two to New York to see the final episode of The Apprentice, receive a new AE wardrobe and tour the New York Design Center where the AE episode was filmed.
