Ciao Bella to Sample 1 Million Single-Serve Gelato Cups

Ciao Bella is handing out 1 million free samples of its latest frozen dessert product line: single cup servings of gelato and sorbet packaged in a branded cup with a spoon tucked conveniently under the lid.

Beginning this month and running through September, Ciao Bella will travel to retail locations across the country in “Gelato Mobiles” to dish out the 3.5-ounce single-serve cups that come in the firm’s most popular flavors, including Blood Orange sorbet, Mango sorbet, Lemon sorbet, Tahitian Vanilla gelato and Chocolate Hazelnut gelato.

This is the first major summer sampling effort the company has undertaken. Last summer it traveled around handing out more than 100,000 free scoops of gelato and sorbet.

The items are available at Safeway, Costco, Harris Teeter and other supermarket chains across the country.

“Whether for the beach, a barbecue, or at home, we’re confident that brand loyalists and newcomers alike will love these personalized, mini, indulgent escapes this season,” said Deborah Holt, vice president of marketing for Ciao Bella, in a release.

The tour will visit markets in California, Connecticut, DC, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island, Virginia, North Carolina and Washington.
