Toys R Us looks to boost holiday sales with a pop-up store

Toys "R" Us is opening a temporary location in New York City targeting holiday shoppers.

The 25,000-square-foot store opens today through Jan. 31 at 692 Broadway St. in the former Tower Records building. The four-level store includes dolls, action figures, electronics and educational toys. In addition, it carries New York City and Toys "R" Us- themed souvenirs.

Toys "R" Us hopes to boots sales with the temporary site and give people a jumpstart on their holiday shopping. Fom Nov. 1 to Dec. 24. visitors can have their photo taken with Santa Claus, the company said.

The store also sells the chain’s “Fabulous 15” Hot Toys for the 2007 holiday season.
