Nextel Signs With Washington Nationals

Major League Baseball team, The Washington Nationals and Nextel Communications, Inc. have inked a three-year marketing partnership naming Nextel an Official Wireless Provider of the team.

Under the terms of the agreement, Nextel is granted significant marketing rights, including signage inside RFK Stadium behind home plate, corporate hospitality, player appearances and cross-promotional opportunities. Each pitching change during games will be called the "Nextel Call to the Bullpen."

In addition, Nextel's wireless phones and services will provided to the team's staff, including Nextel's leading walkie-talkie service.

To celebrate the agreement, Nextel, the title sponsor of NASCAR's premier racing series, will bring the excitement of auto racing to RFK Stadium this week with rides on the Nextel Racing Experience, a full-motion stock-car racing simulator.

Reston, VA-based Nextel is also encouraging fans to bring their old cellular phones to tomorrow's game for Nextel's Donate A Phone wireless phone recycling campaign that benefits the American Red Cross Armed Forces Emergency Services program.
