National City Gets Rink Naming Rights

Financial holding company National City Corp. has signed a two-year deal with the American Hockey League's Cleveland Barons which gives it naming rights to the rink at Gund Arena. According to the league, it's the only corporate sponsored sheet of ice in either the AHL or National Hockey League.

The Barons will now host their home schedule at the newly named National City Rink at Gund Arena. National City will be prominently displayed on the ice with a wrap around the center face-off circle and two in-ice logos.

Dedicated to developing young hockey players, the Barons and National City have structured a financial education workshop.

They will host financial workshops with topics ranging from simple banking strategies to sound investment making, as well as practices at public skating rinks.
