Masterfoods Licenses Three Top Brands for Milk Drinks

Masterfoods USA has licensed its Milky Way, Starburst and 3 Musketeers brands for a line of vitamin-fortified milk drinks.

Bravo! Foods International Corp. will license the candy brands from Hackettstown, NJ-based Masterfoods to extend its line of Slammers milk drinks. The new flavors launch nationally this fall in 14-oz. single-serve bottles, priced at $1.49 each.

Five items—Milky Way, 3 Musketeers and three flavors of Starburst—will appear in convenience stores by yearend, then in supermarkets in 2005. Additional flavors will bow by next summer.

North Palm Beach, FL-based Bravo launched Super-Hero Slammers in May via a licensing deal with Marvel Enterprises (July 21, Xtra). Its Spider-Man flavor got special treatment in 7-Eleven stores this summer to capitalize on the popularity of Sony Pictures' hit film.
