Yahoo! Brings Products to Retail at Marshall Field's
Marshall Field's and Yahoo! Inc. have formed a partnership whereby
Yahoo! will open a dedicated promotional area within the retailer's
Chicago store and the retailer will in turn sell Yahoo! products.
Located on the main floor, the Yahoo! lounge will host computer kiosks
and multi-media presentations beginning Sept. 14. LAUNCH, the Internet
company's music destination, will be the first property featured in a
monthly rotation of different products. Guests can sample and
experience product offerings while surrounded by a backdrop of yellow
and purple tones, the Yahoo! brand colors. A promotional display will
be designed and set up in a window at the State Street store.
In turn, Marshall's will sell Yahoo!-branded products including,
digital cameras, Webcams, keyboard, speakers and computer
glasses.
"This is the first time we've provided the complete experience of being
able to sample Yahoo! products and services within a store, and then
purchase the branded products," a Yahoo! spokesperson said.
The promotion is being handled in-house.
