Mercedes-Benz Extends Sorenstam Deal

Mercedes-Benz USA yesterday announced an extension of its endorsement deal with Ladies Professional Golf Association star Annika Sorenstam. The current agreement, scheduled to end this year, was signed in 2001. The new agreement runs through 2005.

Montvale, NJ-based Mercedes-Benz USA sponsors the LPGA's Golf Clinics for Women and also launched its own Women's Golf Day. At the annual event, Mercedes customers and prospects receive a full day of instructions. The automaker will continue to use Sorenstam as a part of the initiative, in addition to exploring Web-based programs.

Sorenstam already has three LPGA victories under her belt for 2003.
