Kmart, Home Depot Refine Sales Agreement

Kmart Holding Corp. and The Home Depot have narrowed down the number of stores Home Depot will buy from Kmart this fall.

Kmart will sell 13 to 19 stores to Home Depot for $173 million to $288.5 million, fewer than the 24 stores originally planned when the deal was announced in June (June 10, XTRA). Some stores were eliminated when they didn't meet Home Depot's closing conditions.

Four stores (and $59 million) have already changed hands and nine more are expected to be finalized by Aug. 15.
