McDonald’s is promoting its Southern Style Chicken line with e-coupons and a Web tie-in to the Olympic Games.

Starting today, visitors can download an e-coupon for a free South Style Chicken Biscuit or Sandwich, with the purchase of a medium or large beverage at participating restaurants at http://www.FaceTheGlory.com. Also on the site, people can upload photos to be part of a sports video montage. Their mug will appear in a video of athletes competing in swimming, soccer, track, equestrian events and BMX racing.

The, interactive Web site lets visitors to share their videos with friends and family via a unique Web site link, which also can be embedded in a blog, the company said.

The promotion is part of its McDonald’s Olympics outreach. The company is an official partner of the U.S. Olympic Committee and the International Olympic Committee

Online marketing, e-mail blasts and TV and radio spots support the promotion, which runs through Sept. 1.

GCM Advertising: DDB handles TV and radio spots for the general market, Alma DDB is in charge of Hispanic consumer advertising overseeing TV, radio, digital efforts and Burell works on African American advertising. Tribal DDB also handles digital ads, while Arc Worldwide created the Web site and handles consumer e-mail blasts. And IQ Group created TV and print ads for the Asian consumer market. GolinHarris assist McDonald’s with PR and online consumer engagement.
