Arby’s is testing mobile coupons in an effort to build in-restaurant sales:

The fast food chain has teamed up with Cellfire Inc., to distribute mobile coupons redeemable at 250 restaurants throughout Atlanta, Birmingham, AL, Dallas-Ft.Worth, TX, Los Angeles, and Tampa-St. Petersburg, FL. Arby’s is adding the strategy to complement its traditional marketing to reach on-the-go consumers and enhance customer interaction with the brand, the company said.

Through Aug. 30, customers who sign up for the offers will receive coupons via cell phone for a Buy One Get One Free Beef ’n Cheddar sandwich, a Jamocha Shake for 79 cents and a free Chicken Filet Sandwich with purchase of medium fry and medium drink. Customers can register at www.Cellfire.com or send a text message with the keyword “Arbys” to 22888.

“Brands are always looking for ways to more effectively communicate with customers," Brent Dusing, CEO of Cellfire, said. “Mobile devices enable a one-to-one interaction, immediacy and accessibility that surpass what other media can offer, allowing innovators like Arby’s to engage consumers wherever they may be.”

Cellfire has worked with other companies to use mobile coupons, including Hardee’s, Peet’s Coffee & Tea, Hollywood Video and 1-800-Flowers.com Inc.
