A Tequila Rose sweeps tied to the launch of two products drew thousands of entrants and the winner of a custom-made motorcycle.

Houston resident Kim Larson, a 25-year-old technical assistant at an insurance underwriting company, took the grand prize, a purple Wicked Women Chopper, valued at $35,000. Does she ride? No, but she said her father and mother-in-law do and she plans to learn, McCormick Distilling Co., the maker of Tequila Rose said in a statement.

The sweeps, held earlier this year, pulled in about 47,000 entries (18,000 unique) Larson said she entered the contest at the Tequila Rose Web site, TequilaRose.com.

The promotion was held in conjunction with the rollout of two new products, Tequila Rose Cocoa Cream and Tequila Rose Java Cream to celebrate McCormick¹s 150 anniversary earlier this summer.

Both on- and off-premise promotions supported the sweeps.

Off premise, a tear off poster attached to a case card included an entry form to win the bike. On premise the posters were handed out at Tequila Rose Wicked Women Bar promotions, part of a bar kit with other supporting materials like table tents, banners, T-shirts and themed merchandising items.

The bike was placed at both on- and off-premise locations and a model featured in the posters signed autographs. The bike traveled across the country for 90 days stopping at retail and bar events.

All media and promotions linked back to TequilaRose.com, where people could register for the sweeps.

A similar motorcycle is being auctioned off next year for the Barbara Karmanos Cancer Institute is being showcased during a national concert this fall by BomShel, a country and western duo.

The sweeps began in June and ended in September. The Promotion Agency, Brighton, MI, handled the campaign.
