Starz Salutes Spider-Man 3 Via Sweeps, Marathon

Movie network Starz Entertainment is celebrating the upcoming release of Columbia Pictures’ “Spider-Man 3” with exclusive content and a sweepstakes offering the chance to win a 40-inch TV.

The network takes fans behind the scenes of the movie, due out May 4, with a programming feature, “On the Set: Spider-Man 3” offering interviews with actors Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst and movie clips. The show premieres April 28 at 10:55 p.m. ET.

Beyond that, Starz is launching its When Comic Book Attack marathon, a day dedicated to comic book inspired films, on May 3. Films scheduled to air include “Sin City”, “Underworld: Evolution”, “Silver Hawk”, “Blade”, “Dick Tracy” and “Batman and Robin”.

A sweepstakes overlay at Starz.com offers a Sony Bravia 40-inch LCD HDTV as a grand prize. Lesser prizes include a “Spider-Man 3” poster. The promotion runs through May 4.

In “Spider-Man 3”, Peter Parker manages to strike a balance between his love for M.J. and superhero duties. Things begin to turn dark, however, when his Spider-Man suit mysteriously turns black and his powers become enhanced. Peter soon begins to neglect the ones he loves. But when two new villains come to town, Peter must face his biggest battle and find his way back to his heroic beginnings.
