The St. Louis Six Flags and others in the theme-park chain will host contests funneling into a final Los Angeles round.

The Six Flags network of amusement parks will be the exclusive host for the “Fame national Talent Search,” a multi-city entertainment contest intended to promote the September release of MGM’s remake of the 1980 “Fame” about struggling actors, musicians, dancers and singers at a New York City high school.

The “Fame national Talent Search” will launch this July at participating Six Flags parks in San Antonio, Dallas, Chicago, Atlanta, St. Louis and New Jersey. Performer-contestants can enter to win a trip to the final round of competition at Six Flags Magic Mountain in Los Angeles.

Six Flags currently operates 20 theme parks around the nation.

A grand prize winner chosen from among the contestants will win a trip to Hollywood, meetings with a studio executive and a talent agent, a $5,000 cash award and prizes from other promotional partners not yet named.

“Partnering on a summertime talent search with Six Flags is the perfect opportunity for ‘Fame’,” MGM executive vice president of marketing Mike Vollman said in a release. “Giving millions of patrons an opportunity for a real shot at fame in parks across the country will mean that one lucky winner truly deserves it.”
