Papa John’s Celebrates Lucky Day with Giveaway

Papa John’s is toasting the luckiest day on earth—7/7/07—with a free pizza giveaway to randomly selected online customers.

Visitors to PapaJohns.com/777 can register for a chance to win one of 777 large, one-topping pizzas through July 7. One grand-prize winner will receive a $777 Papa John’s gift card. That prize is good for one free pizza a month for five years, the company said.

To further acknowledge the day of luck, Papa John’s is offering a large, one-topping pizza for $7.77 when ordered online at PapaJohns.com on July 7.

“Papa John’s feels lucky to have the greatest customers on earth,” said Jim Ensign, vice president of marketing communications for Papa John’s International, Inc., in a statement. “What better day than 7/7/07 to share that luck with our customers?”

Online materials support the sweepstakes.

Wal-Mart is another marketer cashing in 7/07/07 appeal. The retailer will host free weddings for seven couples on Saturday at Wal-Mart Supercenters around the country. The promotion, which drew 400 entries, part of the company’s Lucky in Love contest (Promo Xtra, June 14, 2007).
