Players visit MortonGirlSweepstakes.com to answer trivia questions about historic dates since 1914, the year the Umbrella Girl was introduced with the tagline "When it rains, it pours." Players get a sweeps entry for registering, and a second sweeps entry if they answer the trivia question right.

Grand prize is $10,000; first prize is $5,000, and second prize (five winners) is $500. An instant-win game lets players use their computer mouse to sprinkle salt over six Morton Salt canisters; they win if the Umbrella Girl is uncovered in chronological order of her six renditions (done in 1914, 1921, 1933, 1941, 1956 and 1968). One thousand instant winners will get an e-gift code to Amazon.com or Fandango Bucks.

The sweeps and game run through Aug. 31 via ePrize, Pleasant Ridge, MI.

Morton also has launched a series of collectible canisters that highlight each version of the Umbrella Girl. This spring, Chicago-based Morton rolled out its high-end sea salt nationally and bowed a one-pound box of coarse kosher salt to complement its traditional three-pound box.
