Marriott Builds Loyalty Via Instant-Win Game, Sweeps

Marriott International, Inc. is out with an instant-win game and sweepstakes designed to build brand awareness and promote new features on its Web site.

The Plan & Go Anywhere Game offers the chance to win more than 1,750 instant-win prizes, including iPods, Panasonic portable DVD players and Bose headphones. Once registered, customers are entered into a sweepstakes for a grand-prize drawing for an eight-day trip for two to a Marriott hotel or resort anywhere in the world, including airfare, hotel and $2,000 cash. Lesser prizes include luggage sets, digital cameras and camcorders.

To play, consumers register at MarriottSweepstakes.com and answer a trivia question about Marriott.com. The promotion runs through March 15.

Marriott is using the instant-win game and sweepstakes to raise awareness of new features on its Web site, including its keyword search. Guests can find a custom hotel faster by searching under a hotel name, by destination or by attractions. In addition, the site offers a destination section for visitors to learn the latest recommendations from city insiders.

The Web site also includes a new deals section, hotel and resort photos, a section for customers to create their own travel packages and a feature to compare air travel and car rental services.

Online materials and e-mail blasts to past guests support the promotion. Don Jagoda Associates, Inc, Melville, NY, administers the promotion.
