Liberty Tax Runs Sweeps with Valpak

Liberty Tax Service is using 27 million Valpak envelopes to take the sting out of tax time.

Liberty is running a sweepstakes and an instant-win game that will award a $45,000 grand prize, and 2,200 “instant refund” checks worth $25 each.

The instant refund checks will be randomly inserted in Valpak envelopes mailing out nationally this month. Liberty also will put discount coupons for tax preparation, and an entry for the sweepstakes, in the Valpak mailings.

Consumers mail in the entry form, or enter the random-draw sweeps via phone or online at Libertytax.com or Valpak.com. The drawing takes place on March 16; the winner will be announced on April 2.

Liberty is a national chain 2,450 of franchised tax-preparation offices. The 10-year-old company was founded by John Hewitt, who earlier founded Jackson Hewitt Tax Service.
