Called the Ultimate Adventure Challenge, Hyatt will choose five families to compete in a series of competitions with three of its properties as the backdrop: the Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort and Spa, the Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort and Spa and the Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe Resort, Spa and Casino.

The competition, to be filmed and posted at HyattAdventureChallenge.com, will feature activities surrounding culture, cuisine and the outdoors, including hula dancing and hot-air ballooning.

The goal of the campaign is to let “armchair adventurers” experience the Hyatt properties from home and to vote for their favorite family.

For their efforts, the family with the highest average rating, along with one home viewer selected through a sweepstakes, will receive 50 free nights to use at any Hyatt resort worldwide.

Participants register at the site and submit 90-second videos showing their passion for adventure and why their family should be selected to be considered for the competition.

Twenty families will fly to a major U.S. city on June 15 for a casting call the next day. There they must convince a panel of judges why they deserve to be a contestant.

Visitors to the site can start viewing the Webisodes on Aug. 15, along with behind-the-scenes footage. The winners will be selected Sept. 28.
