Delta Airlines has named a Georgia man the top winner of its Tickets for Life sweepstakes.

Jerry Yundt, of Johns Creek, GA, won Delta’s grand prize of 2.5 million miles and $25,000 in the annual sweepstakes. The miles are enough for two tickets every year for 50 years, Delta said.

Yundt said he and his wife are planning to redeem some of those miles for trips to Paris and Seattle.

Delta awarded 80 other daily prizes of 50,000 miles to people who bought a qualifying round-trip ticket on http://www.Delta.com during the promotion. People who purchased tickets with an American Express card received two sweepstakes entries.

The promotion ran from Sept. 25 and Dec. 15.

The airline used the sweepstakes, in part, to boost membership of its SkyMiles loyalty program, under which people earn mileage when flying Delta Shuttle, the Delta Connection carriers, Delta AirElite and other SkyTeam airlines. Entrants were required to be a SkyMiles member to qualify for the sweepstakes.

This was the third year Delta has run the sweepstakes.
