Carnival Kicks off Valentine’s Day Contest

Carnival Cruise Lines is paying homage to Valentine’s Day with a contest that awards a free cruise to the couple with the most romantic stories.

People can submit their tales of romance—anything from how they met their loved one to a memorable Valentine’s Day gesture—to http:///www.Carnival.com through Feb. 3. A team of judges will choose the top five entries in the Read My Valentine contest.

Carnival will post the five finalists’ stories on http://www.Carnival.com/love between Feb. 8 and Feb.13 when visitors can vote for their favorite to determine the winner. The top vote-getter will receive a four-day Caribbean cruise for two on the Carnival Imagination from Miami or the Carnival Inspiration from Tampa, FL.

The winner’s story will also be featured in the summer edition of Currents, Carnival’s travel publication, which is mailed to more than 3 million people.

Online marketing, e-mail blasts and blogs will support the promotion.
