Yahoo Personals Sets up Kissing Booths
Yahoo Personals is at it again. Last month the online dating service
organized a date on top of a Los Angeles billboard; this month it hopes
to make new love connections at coast-to-coast kissing booths while
raising money for charity.
On Feb. 9, kissing booths will be set up in high-traffic areas in Los
Angeles (Third Street Promenade), Chicago (Union Station), Atlanta (the
Mall at Peachtree Center) and New York (Grand Central Station). For
every person who visits the booths, Yahoo Personals will donate $1 to
the local Humane Society.
Manning the booths are some of the 45 singles Yahoo Personals had
previously selected to represent the service in its 2004 advertising
campaign, dubbed Project: Real People.
The singles will promote the fact that they are looking for a date for
Valentine's Day and drive people to the site to sign up. The singles
will select a date on Feb. 13 from among fellow members and then be
treated to a night on the town.
